The view out of our window this morning. ![[Linked Image]](https://tm-img.com/images/2023/10/31/IMG_20231031_113313_041.jpeg) Pity about the crane and TV antennas spoiling the view. At least the crane should go sometime in the next couple of weeks. Below is from a local web cam. ![[Linked Image]](https://tm-img.com/images/2023/10/31/IMG_20231031_113322_985.jpeg) The top of the mountain is 2,400 metres and we are at about 200 metres above sea level. It seems to have snowed from about 1,000 metres ASL and on up. It’s 28 degrees F and snowing in Wisconsin. This is our first snow but we don’t have that much snow or the beautiful mountains in the background.

Up here in the Rockies we have had our first full heavy snow of the season, I live at 2600m and we have 0.254m of snow it was cold last weekend being -15C. Our first ski resort A Basin opened on Sunday they had over 0.610m of snow and the other resorts are opening over the next 2 weeks.

If anyone is thinking about good all-season tyres, certified for snow, can I recommend the Michelin CrossClimate.
They would not be an alternative to full snow tyres for someone who lives in the mountains but they are very suitable for the occasional encounter with snow, and are legal for winter use in Northern Italy. From 15 November 2023 to 15 April 2024, vehicles must have snow tyres or snow chains on board.
The CrossClimate are just fantastic in the wet too.
We have them on all three cars, The Polo, the Jag, and the Morgan.

More heavy rain forecast for our area tomorrow, temperature is dropping so snow can't be far off.
Re the Michelin CrossClimate, we have the CrossClimate 2 on Mrs Ds car, they are good but be careful when hitting standing water at the side of the road. Because they don't have the groove running around the circumference I find they tend to pull you over the road much more than a tyre with the circumference groove.

Horrible stuff snow - thank heavens we rarely get any here in "sub tropical" South Wales. We might moan about the british weather but we dont fry in summer and dont freeze in winter
