Horrible stuff snow - thank heavens we rarely get any here in "sub tropical" South Wales. We might moan about the british weather but we dont fry in summer and dont freeze in winter Are you not a little apprehensive that it's predicted the Gulf stream may cease to visit our coastline and therefore Siberian winters the UK would experience, without the benefits of the warming Gulf stream. Global warming for us means wet summers and very cold winters.........

If anyone is thinking about good all-season tyres, certified for snow, can I recommend the Michelin CrossClimate. They would not be an alternative to full snow tyres for someone who lives in the mountains but they are very suitable for the occasional encounter with snow, and are legal for winter use in Northern Italy. From 15 November 2023 to 15 April 2024, vehicles must have snow tyres or snow chains on board. The CrossClimate are just fantastic in the wet too.
We have them on all three cars, The Polo, the Jag, and the Morgan. Agreed - I have them on my T-Roc, they’ve not seen snow yet but good in the wet as you say. We have a few roads in the area where they’re compulsory from today.

Up here 4 wheel drive is pretty much compulsory, you see the vehicles stuck, crashed and ditched that are not, also snow tyres for the winter and all terrain for the summer. We drive Toyota's which are great workhorses, our 4 Runner has over 250k miles and the battle scars from the spring hail storms the Tacoma truck is newer and slightly more refined. Beginning October through to end May we sport Bridgestone Blizzak winter tyres which are very good in snow and ice (although ice is ice!!!), for the summer we use BF Goodrich All Terrain tyres which are good for rain, mud and dirt roads of which there are many.

But what do you run on the Morgan? On the +8 I like the Yokohama Geolandar A/T tyre, the 4/4 has Verdestein tyres because of fit and my M3W rear is a Yokohama Advan touring tyre. Of course my Moggies are in hibernation for the winter and the biggest issue on the Spring Summer roads is sand and grit until a good rain has washed the roads.
