Yeah, I'm going to have a fiddle with the wiring at some point - I don't understand why so many circuits are permanent live, rather than ignition switched live.

Possibly limited by the current rating of the ignition switch?

A quick blast around the coast to blow the Christmas cobwebs from the head. Couldn't find a Christmas tree in any of the local towns so here's a few fishing boats instead.

No.
swear

For the first time in its 19 years of my ownership, my 4/4 wouldn’t start.

First impression is fuel pump, (I can not hear it priming), so during the next few days I’ll be checking:

1 Trying the spare key.
2 Changing the relay.
3 Checking the fuse.
4 Checking the earth on the fuel pump.

5 Hoping it will start, if not I’ll get Berrybrook to collect it and sort it.

Just starting on a nice bottle of Malbec.

wine

Happy Christmas everyone.

Boxing Day dawned sunny, dry and no salt on the roads.

We spent the morning with our horses (including a pleasant hack out with Mrs F) and then consumed a light lunch followed by a slice each of the Christmas Cake that my Dad baked and iced. Dad is 93 and bakes very well. It was then time to take the Morgan out for a run. Mrs F declined the invitation to accompany me. I managed a 24 mile brisk run out including topping the tank to the brim with Shell V-power. Morgan now back in the garage pending tomorrow's forecast monsoon.

The only down beat part of the day was when reversing out of the garage. I heard a strange pop. When I looked back into the garage, it would appear that my nearly full container of Captain Tolley's Creating Crack Cure had become dislodged from its shelf and had come to rest behind the near side front wheel. The pop was the sound of the garage floor being covered in the contents of the bottle. All now cleared up and a note reminding me to order a new bottle next time I have the enthusiasm has been logged.

Stanley is working again!

woohoo

It was a relay and my diagnosis was not helped by the relays being incorrectly labelled.

I will acquire a couple of spares from the local factor, to be kept in the car.

After much relay swapping, some skinned knuckles and a few choice words, we are ready for a New Year Day run.
