It's part of the new MOT rules. Hs to have a speedo fitted and be working correctly. Do you have a link for the new rules?

Quote from the above: "Supplementary restraints The vehicle will fail the test if any airbag fitted as original equipment is obviously missing or defective."All new Morgans have been fitted with a steering wheel with an airbag since about 1998(?). Doesn't this mean that those cars with retrofitted Motalita wheels will fail the new test?

The UK spec Classics don't have airbags.......I'm pretty sure the Aero's do though.

There seems to be some conflicting information about and I have not got around to asking at the factory. I assume the Euro spec trads do not have airbags but provision was made for them for the American market (where they now can not be sold). Is my assumption correct? I do know that if you have a Motolita fitted at the factory they still give you the standard steering wheel because it is the only one actually certified for the car. The Motolita in this case is considered an aftermarket fitting.

Hmmm.......they never gave me my standard wheel. It's probably gone back into the factory onto another car! NOT that I wanted it!!!!!!
