Here's the upcoming recipe:

* AL Developments ported head

* The head will be decked 0.30mm

* Combined with an upgraded Comtec head gasket, but in the standard 0.50mm thickness

* This with give a safe lift in compression ratio of 0.5 points (10.8:1 becomes 11.3:1)

* ARP head studs

* Newman Phase 3 cams (replacing the Phase 2s)

* I already have the nessesary 60lb beehive valve springs so these just get moved over to the new head

The above recipe is etimated to give the following results:

1. Worse case scenario = 215hp

2. Best case scenario = 227hp

The average being 221hp thumbs

The bottle neck over 200hp will always be my Fusion Fabrications long runner inlet manifold but I'm determined to persevere with it because it really does add good torque more or less everywhere, unlike the ITB rout it also allows me to retain my 'Speed Density' calibration. Tweaking my existing fuel table and pulling some ignition timing to stay out of knock easy to do, using vacuum as the engine load reference is always best in my opinion, its reliable, accurate and way more forgiving than using the throttle position sensor as with 'Alpha N'.

Obviously both tuning stratergies also use RPM, but 'Speed Density' gives a more reliable air temp signal too, so combined with the solid vacuum signal from my good quality Bosch absolute pressure sensor I'll always achieve better drivability from a 'Speed Density' tuned engine on a single throttle plenum type inlet manifold, especially if that inlet manifold is a Fusion Fabrications long inlet runner large plenum item with it's intermal velocity stacks that to some degree function as ITBs anyway.

While the expected average of 221hp is very realistic I do accept that's unknown territory for my Fussion Fabrications long runner inlet, it will definitely start to limit outright power arround the 200hp, however if I can retain my following excellent torque spread and still make 210hp, I'll be very happy indeed cloud9
