On that basis, think I will go for 16mm which is bound to fit rather than trying to tightly squeeze a 19mm in, which may put a strain on the internal reinforcing of the pipe.. 🤞

It will be 16mm (⅝") Keith. That's the default size for most heater hose i/d.

While waiting for my engine to get back I pulled the wheels to check the brakes. 3 of the 4 looked perfect, the right rear had grease around the seal and on the springs. I pulled the hub off to gain access. It may have been that the weep hole was a bit plugged last time I added grease and some pressed it's way through the seal. Cleaning it up and checking the hole may have been all that was needed, but since I have the time I might bas we'll replace the seal.

Changed my tee piece over today with a 16 mm aluminium one from Viper.
Bit of a wrestle to get the plastic one off! The new one slid in with no resistance at all. Would have felt better if it had been a tad bigger, though next size up at 19 mm might be pushing it a bit.
Anyway, tightened down, ran up to stat opening temperature and no leaks, all pipes hot and heater working fine.
Still got half a cup full of coolant left over but guess air will percolate out on my next run and I can then top up.

Doug,
I remember I had to cut one of the hoses it wouldn't pull off on one of the legs. Well done

Well done Doug.

A bit late but a quick squirt of silicone lube down the back of the pipe will help the old one let go.

Thanks Rog. I got it turning ok but think it was the big end barb that didn't want to go through the section that had been clamped.
Once I chose the right swear words, it popped off!
The new one of course has barbs all of the same diameter, which although would make it easier to push onto a tight tube but maybe a little less effective when the jubilee clip is applied. Assume you have now fitted the fleabay aluminium one?
