When I swapped the dash on Belle I didn't swap the switches. The heated screen didn't work. It turned out the switch was faulty & my old one worked fine. The printed circuit board is as you say vulnerable & I suspected a dry solder joint.

A friend has a Plus4, when he took it for its first MOT neither the rear fog lights or reversing light were even connected! They all do that Sir!

I had similar on my Plus8 rear foglight. Started as intermittent flashing on/off, even when not switched on. Checked fuse and ok. Worked back from the bulb and nothing obvious. Dash off and checked the switch and control box. Switch ok but the box rattled so opened it. The pcb inside was loose so hotmelt glued it back. Worked for a while then played up. Opened the box and all appeared ok. Tried getting a replacement but none available ( tried Melvyn Rutter and even factory direct) none available. Plenty in the factory for older Plus8’s but not the later models. GRRRR! I was about to order a unit from Carbuildersolutions when under a magnifier I spotted a couple of iffy solder joints. Quick dab with a soldering iron and fixed. No subsequent problems.
The car was about 13/14 years old. Electrics getting old ( relatively). Hence starting to think about long term ownership plans/system overhauls.

Have you checked that you have a good clean earth connection to the light?

Hi Rog,
sorry about the delay Ive been working frown so I havent had time to play. I've got the dash out and I will make sure i can get some light straight onto the multipin connector tonight. Once I've done that I will put some life into the board and see what comes out.. I'll let you know

Guys,
Thanks for the help. Relay was goosed. RS/Farnell/CPC don't have them ( Think they are out of production) but found some at Pennine components £1.35 a piece. PIC is locked but I cant say I'm surprised by that.

Has anyone installed These on a car with the rear valance? Seems a great idea, but two things come to mind. 1) any problem with that dash circuit board. ie over loading the components on it. 2) Sourcing another clear lens “cover”

Not used the kit, but have done the same using stop/taill lights and clear lens - Lucas L594 - from eBay and bulbs from Classic Car Leds, Just over £50 all in. As the bulbs are LED I doubt there'll be problems as the draw from both would be less that a single halogen. However, my knowledge of modern electrickery is limited.
