Gave the battery cover a spray in Morgan sports blue. Nobody will notice it, but I know it is there.

Love it.
Just the sort of thing I would do.

I painted the wood black with Sandolin preservative shortly after getting car. Masks the grubby fingerprints that appear as well.

Good point. Thank you.
CTEK lead is indeed not fused. They don't mention this possibility, which I think is a flaw. Will add it. Only wrapped around additional tape to prevent chafing on the hole in the wall. Leads are screwed with eyelets directly to battery the poles.

They do make a unit with an inline 15 A fuse. Such as this eBay item number:273836223613
Also what the screws that hold onto the plate I had a bad experience when a garage replaced a screw with a longer one that cut into the +ve cable. The plate is then live.

My Maypole charger provides for a similar permanent battery connection (with insulated cap) as well as crocodile clips. There is a fuse which I suspect the Ctek has as well but it's on the charger side of common lead. It's all a little academic when you consider the dedicated starter cable following common practice, has no fuse at all between battery and starter motor.

Maybe Richard but the CTEK cable is far smaller & exposed to the items behind the seats. I know the wire would act as a fuse too but having watched my previous Roadster starting to catch fire I prefer a fuse.
