Niall at the risk of bombarding you with recommendations this is the battery and brand I recommend having used them on cars and boats for a decade or two. It's the usual maintenance free (sealed calcium) lead/acid. AGM batteries are the gel ones but not really needed unless you have a stop/start car. I would recommend the CTek conditioner/charger too, as it can be left in place over Winter.

I've got three of the Maypole 4A's -on the Mog and the bikes. Also can be used all year round, and fraction of the Ctek price.

I've not heard of them. I take it you would recommend them over the Ctek?

I have CTEKs and a few others, no problems, the £14.99 ones from LIDL are just as good IHMO
