A massive fire today at a Vauxhall garage on the A38 near Bristol, destroyed 15 cars. Fire service are investigating that an electric car may have been the culprit!
It's really not funny, and in Scotland last week we came across a few EV's moving at less than sub optimal speed, presumably due to range anxiety, and yet on the Isle of Skye there were dozens.
There's a Fire Fighter on You Tube who records blow out incidents professionally, as a training aid, and some of these EVs can vent into the passenger compartment. When that happens, before the fire, the inevitable explosion blows the windows out. There's a video of a Jeep which blows the hardtop a long way into the air, before it crashes back down, and a few cases where integral garage doors have been blown off completely. One just misses a Firefighter by inches.

Thanks for the link Dave, a very close call there for the fireman, yet another manmade hazard for these brave people to contend with.
As an aside I quite like the lines and especially the RANGE of the Polestar 2 I recall being impressed by the fit and finish of the Polestar 1 at Goodwood Festival of Speed at launch time.

Yes thats an interesting link. Also the next vid by the same fireman about danger vs amount of charge in the battery. Quite eye opening. Well just like petrol the more there is in the tank the bigger the fire.
