Is there anyone who can help me with the finding of an exchange engine for my Roadster V6 3 ltr.
My carter hit an obstacle and lost all the oil, engine now out of order.
Not repairable. look for alternative.

It would maybe help if you advised which series of 3 litre Roadster you have Joris. Each of the three had a different engine and gearbox combo.

specialised Engines regularly advertise in Miscellany and focus on Ford exchange engines only with a range of modifications to select.I have no personal experience of them.

Their site seems to be down although probably the best choice. Some more here:
Global Engines
Engine Engineering
Hayes Engines
Ford Engine

Yes. In a oil loss scenario, the engine is gone before you can stop. Happy you are well. How much of the engine/gearbox do you need? Hitting something and running without oil will destroy your short
engine, (aka the bottom half) but the other parts, often the most expensive, should be intact. New short engines start at 2000. Long engines (everything but the fueling system) began at much more. But
prices will vary as much as 250% depending who you buy from.

I very much like Roadsters 3.0. A well balanced Morgan. Reliable. Many variants of the block also "crate engines", or pre-tested for compliancy in the USA, often accepted in other developed world nations.

Your sage decision factors are as follows;

1. Did you enjoy the power you had?

2. Which roads and in what fashion do you like driving your Morgan the most? You can then opt for an engine, preferable a Ford V6 variant, to match that.

3. Beware of too much power or you will trap yourself in a Deadly Domino Effect. The great Rob Wells and John Sheally II taught me that with your/mine standard tyres, we cannot get more than 275 bhp to
the ground from a standing start. So anything more is a waste of fun and petrol. My remaining Morgan was made fully bespoke at the Factory and is very light. I shot for the 275 and ended with 306bhp. So
I keep the engine detuned by 5%, which makes us both happier. Actually, my lower powered UK Plus 8 (an tuned military 4.6) was a better tourer at 260 bhp in a heavier car.

4. Additionally, if you upgrade power too much, you put a greater strain on everything else on the car. Brakes, cooling, exhaust, suspension..you. I have seen it many times. Owners boost power with an
engine swap and then stop using their Morgan. A great car is a harmonious bespoke balance of everything, including the driver.

After you decide 1-3, we can find an engine for you to match the bhp and torque band you need.

Surely if the engine was damaged by hitting something then this 'accident' is covered by insurance and the authorised repairer is tasked with sourcing a new / rebuild of existing engine to return the car back to pre accident condition ?

There have certainly been UK Roadsters with the scenario that the insurer has covered

I imagine there may be a few situations where a vehicle can be damaged and perhaps not covered by insurance, such as sporting events of different types and more..? Yeah insurance can be had to cover most things, but not always taken advantage of..? Claiming against insurance can also create a record which for many reasons might be thought to best avoided..?
