My Dad was a fairly well known member in the Morgan world and I am sure he would appreciate me keeping the car and myself (and mum and sister) involved.

Anyway, yes! I have driven the Morgan today, only to get about 2 miles away from home to find that the throttle was sticking wide open… which was eventful with a 200 horses tugging at 50 year old brakes! I pulled into the first lay-by and killed the ignition. A simple roadside repair carried out, although nothing obviously wrong and straight back home. It is getting looked at by someone much more capable than I at the weekend, but I am glad it happened today rather than next weekend!

On a side note, I have worked in the car trade for almost years, not once have I had to remove a bonnet to change a battery… oh how I have missed the Morgan fold!🤣

John (assuming I'm correct) welcome back to TM, your dad will always be fondly remembered and greatly missed

Best regards

Hi Jon, you are correct! Thank you.
It is typical of my Dad to leave me with something to sort out! It turns out the throttle body had swallowed the end of one of the filter socks! All sorted now and ready to head to MogFest next weekend.
I am expecting a very emotional trip. I was actually in tears driving the car just before the throttle stuck open, then immediately looked to the skies and thought ‘I am trying to look after her for you’ and I knew he would be replying ‘don’t rev it!’

60 mile round trip to the small village of Rumburgh in a remote part of rural Suffolk. The quaint bar of the Rumburgh Buck provided food and drink for the three of us and was busy although it doesn't take much in such a small place. Good drive back remaining dry after dodging forecast dark clouds.

Pleased to say the steering is noticeably improved after tweaking the racks pre-load adjuster. It feels so much calmer now being less lively over rough surfaces.

I enjoyed the day Richard. We had a nice drive back and I was surprised to be told once home how it had rained there.

Day out today with our 9 year old grandson to the Weald and Downland Museum (where The Repair Shop is filmed). He chose to go in the Morgan rather than one of our tintops smile

Yes enjoyable drive there and back John all the better for the sorted steering. Surprised at the level of improvement TBH. Downer was when chilling out at home later. Suddenly found a wasp buzzing in my ear which then stung me inside it swear Val showed me the stinger. What are the chances of that happening. Val kindly hunted it down although it didn't suffer as much as me ooo

Richard ... sounds like a bee if it left its stinger behind ... wasps can sting again and again ... bees just once..

Bit of bad luck ... but at least you're not allergic.

You omitted to say, Richard, that a chap in the bar came over to shake the hands of the red Morgan owners, as you had made their day (he had always wanted a red Morgan since child, apparently). My grey one was firmly overshadowed!!!
