I know the usual answer is 'I can't hear it anyway!' but I like a bit of music in my 1994 +8 when I'm not dashing around. My radio has output for 4 speakers but only has the standard 2 x 4" ones fitted behind the seats. I'm thinking of fitting 2 more speakers under the dashboard. There's room for one on the driver's side between the steering column and the outer bulkhead wall. On the passenger side there is possibly room behind the glovebox BUT the loudspeaker magnet would be next to the 14CUX ECU which runs the fuel injection. So the question is, would a strong magnet not affect the ECU or is this a complete no-no? thinking

Should be fine but note that usual front speaker position is on outer side of each footwell.

Thanks for that Richard. I didn't know that there was a preferred position for front speakers, I'll look again at the options. What you suggest is probably the only sensible position with hindsight!

You may even find the unused speaker cables behind the trim in the location Richard suggests
