We attended our (new to us) local church, lovely service inside followed by wreath laying at the memorial outside by some veterans and the Vicar read out all the local villagers lost to WW I and II, amazing timing as the bells struck 11.00 mid way in the two minute silence

Remember to give the boys and girls just two minutes of your time today the 11th at 1100 hrs if you can.

They shall grow not old,
as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them,
nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the
sun and in the morning
We will remember them

This morning 20 of the year six children placed their wooden poppy crosses in the bank that lines the church path and each with it’s own special message
. They joined everyone at the memorial for 1100 a very special sight and feeling.

Forgot to attach the picture

There was a sizeable gathering on the green in front of the village church. The names of those who perished were read out and each followed by a single bell toll from the church belfry. The same surname was read out twice on eight occasions. I poignant reminder of the losses suffered by what was a small Norfolk village.

This weeks Songs of Praise came from the BRNC with poignant service and good scenery and reflections on the wars.
