One could try the binoculars solution.
Or how about waiting till they're really dry midsummer then carefully sealing them?

Some gauges may already have ventilation holes, also what lets moisture out can also allow it in.

My suspicion is the openness of the dash even if fitted with an undertray, you jump in for a winter drive and all the gauges tubes, wires, vent holes are cold, your legs give off invisible warm water vapour that heads upwards and fills the back of the dash area looking for somewhere to condense.

I wonder if a tiny 12v 'puter fan hidden behind (that's energised by ign on) would help stir up the damp fug ?

This could be a good thing to try out in the errant dials for someone suffering

I think that a fan has potential, but the ducting would be a faf to get right and then it depends where you source the air from. My Roadster gauges have a wide leather apron over the top, and carpet closure under the dash, and they still mist up. So it seems that we need a cold air feed through the gauges........

Warm air behind the dash inside the gauge cools when in contact with th3 cold glass. More so in winter. It's how clouds form and then mist, rain, sleet, snow etc. Basic physics. Two directions to cure it would be dry the air or warm the gauge glass. Neither is easy in an open top car. I've had it on all 3 Morgans. Trads and now the Plus Four.
I wonder if a clear film over the gauge might help, the type you can get for a mobile phone screen as a protector or paint protection film. I5 migh5 just provide enough insulation to prevent the condensation.

Tested clear film on my Roadster small gauges. No significant difference.

My 2019 Roadster was the only Morgan I have had that didn't mist up at all. The CX was the worst of the lot!

Agreed my 3.7 is the same, perhaps all being in one unit means there's a little shared heat, but as you can see still plenty of vents and gaps to let damp air in ?

II haven't had the opportunity to drive my Plus 4 much in the dark, but I only seem to remember my other trads instrument misting up during the day, not at night (not that I drove them much at night )when the lights were on and the instrument illumination provided a source of internal heat to dry the condensation out. Do other still experience misting up when the instruments are illuminated?
