I have a Bootbag. Works well but I added extra press studs to the flap covering the zip to make sure no water got in via the zip. It sits low enough to allow rear visibility. Plus a couple of extra ratchet straps for added fixing.
Last year we bought two hard cases , med and large, as alternatives. They sit high so I fit a removable high level brake light as the Cobra's head one is obscured. Simple waterproof connectors makes it an easy swop. Leather straps, ratchet straps used so far. Kanulocks being looked at.

I looked at lockable bike panniers when I bought the Bootbag. Brackets would fit to the rack and paniers clipped on and locked.

We use two Kanulock straps and a (too) large case. We use a Morgan luggage strap to hold the case on the rack and then thread one Kanulock laterally and the other fore and aft. Both pass through the bag handles. The case, by the way is manufactured near Como by Bric's.
The Bric's case has a semi-concealed zip which makes it shower proof and, in the case of rain, it has a clear plastic pull on cover. We did consider getting two smaller cases but in the end opted for one large one.

When the photo below was taken only one of the Kanulock straps was fitted and the cable to the high level brake light, which sits on top of the case, was not connected.

It seems that we too have lost the art of travelling light. frown

Yes - and

U-bolts plus stainless steel plates. I got lucky as a local bike accessories shop had a pair of display Givi mounts in stock which I got for £20. Somewhat offset the cost of the Givi boxes.

I just aero elastic a large waterproof bag on the luggage rack. If any ner do well wants to make off with a weekends worth of my skidmarked boxer shorts they are welcome to them.

Anything valuable goes in a day bag which I take with me!

We use Kanulocks, and a useful addition is to put an eyelet through the loose end between the steel cables. A luggage bungee hook goes though that and keeps the loose end from flapping around. A narrow ratchet strap goes transversely and adds to keeping it all secure.
