I was Global Supply Chain Director for Linatex a company supplying industrial rubber around the world mainly to the mining industry.
They were owned by Elementis who had a screening system on web pages what a nightmare that net nanny had to be told Rubber Weekly was a real industrial publication.
Our Aussie company sold rubber into the vast local mining industry so I was over there quite often in remote places & fun places. I still have an insulating sleeve for a stubbie.
I also would go to the USA regularly. When asked at immigaration what my business role was I always said "I'm big in industrial rubber" . Not a titter from Newark to Dallas airports except for the Brits behind me.

I also had to suffer S Africa . What a privilige. My favourite time though was in 2003 we had a global ERP meeting in KL. This was day after Mr Wilkinson showed the convict types (as my Scottish SC Manager living in Melbourne would say) how good we English are.
There were two Aussies at the meeting. I might have mentioned it occaisionally.

As a joke to shock some people, I have an old copy of Plastics & Rubber Weekly on the back parcel shelf . One in the Kangoo now ! Had a friend who was brand manager at London Rubber Company , he headed up Durex and his job was to grow the market . It was a blow to him when he was fired . Best to all MM

I know it is a bugger. I helped buy & intergrate an ink compay there . Based in Cape Town (wine) , Jo'burg (safaris) & Durban with PE & E London sites. Once a month visits for 18 months. The Cape town hotel was an old winery now B&B in Stellenbosch . I took one for the team. I'm like that

So two engineers are standing staring at a flagpole.
A blonde walks up and asks what they are doing. One of the engineers answers we’re supposed to measure the height of the pole but we don’t have a ladder.
The blonde notices a pin at the base of the pole, pulls it out which allows her to lower the pole. She takes out a tape measure and says ‘it’s 6.5m’ and walks away.
One of the engineers turns to the other and says, rolling his eyes, ‘typical blonde, we’re supposed to measure the height not the width’!
