According to this “For Sale Test” in “Classic Car” Mag, this S5 had to have its alloys changed due to fouling wheel arches. Not heard of this problem but would have thought it a warranty issue - maybe it was, but looks to have non standard wheels.

My feedback on it. I don't think there is a "right" price for a Mog especially an Aero which is a splinter of a splinter. I love a V8 and it has sidepipes. I think the current car market is quite depressed looking at auction prices so this does feel like it is on the expensive side but if it ticks your boxes who cares.

Nicholas Mee are a well known dealer generally and have a good reputation. I don't know their Mog experience but guess they had a part/ex for an Aston?

On my S2 you can go lock to lock without any fouling. On the Coupe with the 19" Rays Aeromax wheels you can hear a slight rub when on full lock in either direction. I suspect the tyres (std size) are rubbing against the cables coming out of the engine bay and into the stack of radiators in the front. I did need a PAS cable replacing some time back and suspect this was related to that. The ET (offset?) of the alloy should be checked against the factory given they are after market?

If it did have the old Rays alloys it is worth asking as they are worth quite a lot for replacements to other owners with them. I may have heard there are also stock availability issues getting hold of them from the factory. They are an expensive wheel as they are very high quality.

It appears to have the "switches" panel without the ICE slot so conversion from the peek-a-bo solution to a traditional box or something alternative might benefit from a little call to the factory for a replacement panel to make it easier.

Front passenger side wheel being kerbed is almost like a rite of passage when you first drive the Aero as it is so far away and hidden with no flat edges to gauge against! I might have done my S2 in the first month, who knows eh!

The petrol gauge, often known as the "refer to trip mileage indicator" reminder when it randomly flashes yellow is useless. I always reset my trip indicator when I refill as the gauge is a useless tool. Strangely the S2 is way better but I think the tank shape changed. 140 miles is plenty before I refill which is annoying. Unless you are being naughty.

The horns are in the wheel arch and will often fail due to water ingress if you drive in the wet so this is not unknown. It looks like a replacement battery but that's par for the course.

Inspect the cabling in the door to body frames as a big bundle goes through a tight hole.
Check the speed and smooth operation of the windows.
