Yes Paul, I guess it's all down to how strong the clutch master cylinders own spring is. With both on a Roadster it's severely heavy.

There was a nasty wrinkle in the tonneau cover that has been bothering me since we got Little Red. I was thinking about some sort of flap with a snap or Velcro, but Morgan Malone suggested a simple zipper. A local friend with a commercial sewing machine offered to do the work and I am really happy with the results.

When I bought my Roadster, the first 2 owners had covered 13,644 miles between them. Today 20,466 came up on the odometer, meaning I have now done exactly 1/3 of the total mileage. So I treated the car to a front suspension grease and annual wire wheels deep clean. At age 75 I'm beginning to find the wheels heavy, can anyone give me some confidence I'll still be able to do this myself for a few more years.....? oldgit

Get a scissor lift to save you from having to bend over and some hydraulic wheel dollies to help you move the wheels around. There are lots of options out there, here's what I've got:

Thanks, I've been considering a scissor lift since I did the same jobs this time last year. My garage is quite small so I need to be able to move the car outside to work on it. In my next life I'll have a larger garage ! Possibly a remote greasing kit would make sense too. Anything that doesn't involve crawling around under the car is becoming more attractive. Just out of curiosity, can the CX cars be jacked-up under one corner to change a wheel ?

We are of a very similar vintage, might be best to crawl around for as long as you can, as a means of exercise. If you make things too easy, you might just seize up to the extent you can not get in and out of your immaculate Morgan.... Which would be a great pity..?

L.O.W. can you get out of your car when it's in the garage? If so you should be able to take the wheels off on a lift. I have a scissor lift and park the car over it, i.e. it stays where it's put.

I know where you are coming from in that a couple of years ago I sold my immaculate 110 Land Rover station wagon for just the same reasons. It's not just the work on the car it's all the jacks and axle stands and rigmarole that goes with the job your'e doing. The lift is great but not without some hefting as well, as you need cross beams on a narrow chassis car like a Morgan. Where are you based, I'm sure there would be a local kindly Mog owner who has a lift that would be only too willing to assist you in keeping you both driving and maintaining your car. I posted in the past about starting a sort of buddy system like this but got quite negative responses but I still believe for us (that's me) lone type morganeers that it would be great to have a mate where you help each other to keep on driving the Mog for as long as possible and have some fun in the process too! And to be honest after seeing how a modern day mechanic treats a car, who wouldn't rather share and enjoy the maintenance side of owning a Mog as well! My car doesn't get to see a dealership, Quite frankly at 69 years of age, I'd say for the last 30+ years I have had nothing but hassle when any of my cars go near a dealership, lies, lies and more lies from them and and that's not to mention the damage they cause while it's with them. Yes I'm an engineer but a Mog is not rocket science and are easily fettled. One thing I do more of late is to do the work in smaller sessions. If I'm servicing the car I don't just keep ploughing on, I might just do the fluids one day, the rear brakes another and the front end after that etc.

L.O.W. why don't you follow on with this thread tell the forum where you are based and let's see what comes of it! I'm in North Wales by the way!
