The fastest new M3W on ice. http://www.classic-cars.se/Sidor/Nyhet.aspx?Id=33At The Speed Weekend (9-10 of March) on the frozen Orsa Lake the new M3W managed a top speed of 149.006km/h and an average speed over 1km of 144.706km/h (the track is 3000m long and 40m wide....and slippery). More pictures and video will come soon according to the site. The M3W looks great with uncovered front wheels

I just heard that the conditions were not that optimal with plus degrees and a lot of big water puddles on the track (seriously slowing down the speed). But as with all records...the lower they are the easier they are to improve

By the way...what is the highest top speed that you brave pilots (that have already taken M3W delivery) has enjoyed so far (on a enclosed road of course )? Morgan state an estimated top speed of 115 mph.

Went to Thruxton yesterday and the highest top speed I have seen so far is 95 mph on the speedo, knowing Morgan's propensity to have their speedo's reading fast by about 10% that's only 85 mph corrected. Got a trackday booked for Saturday with it, but as rev-limiter still cutting in at circa 5000rpm, I doubt I'll be able to max it. On a separate issue with nearly 500 miles on the clock, the bevel box is definitely getting quieter!

Went to Thruxton yesterday How did you get on with noise levels? Must have been okay as you were allowed to play.

There were a lot of contraptions there that were more noisy than the 3.wheeler.
About speed on ice - you need a really hard frozen ice surface and tyres without too many studs to get the really high speeds. unfortunately the ice was soft, and to my opinion Lars had too many studs for high straight speed, but perfect for turning.
I hope to be there next year with my new one, if only I will get it soon.

I was expecting it to be much faster than that. 93 miles per hour on wet, mushy ice is very good, especially since it came directly from the dealer room without any other preparation than studded tires !!!!

93 doesn't sound very fast but on soft ice it would still be a white knuckle ride, I used to buy my Triumph bike spares off Norman Hyde, 30 years ago he took the sidecar 1km LSR at 161 mph astride a Triumph Trident
