Appreciate that but they don’t mention it and it’s just a three hour ‘show’. Perhaps it’s a very small event and a one off ? It’s not a BH and we don’t get a day off ………….may be all classic car owners are retired or don’t work !? We are having an early evening community bbq with a small bonfire . MM

It's a week long event, the Thursday bit is a concours show. https://www.stmawesclassic.co.uk/

Perhaps it’s a very small event and a one off ? It’s not a BH and we don’t get a day off ………….may be all classic car owners are retired or don’t work !? I'm unfamiliar with it, but a quick Google shows it's part of an annual event over a week. This year, 5th-9th May. stmawesclassic.co.uk classicshowsuk.co.uk" Classics from Pre-war to modern day - Cars are by invitation only. This is a friendly event for a maximum of 25 cars. The festival is based in St Mawes but travels all over Cornwall during the festival." Of course, lots of classic car owners work, but the world doesn't stop for those of us who don't!

If you are down that way, avoid driving near Helston on 8th May as it is Flora Day and many roads will be closed in the town when they dance through the streets 4 times a day.

175 plus miles today from Fort Augustus to John O Groats. A big truckers show going on at Beauly with about 100 shiny tractor units on the road coming the other way. The road down the side of Loch Ness is a lot of fun, but the A9 and A99 up the coast was also a lot of fun. The road constantly changes character, the gorse is at 100%, and the traffic melts away the further North you get. However, John O Groats was rammed. Got a couple of pics, and you can actually stop close to the signpost. But didn't stay because crowds are not our thing.

JOG like Lands End is spolied by the tourist industry these days. Are you doing the full 500? To me it gets better and better from JOG onwards. I hope you get dry weather to see the views.

Yes John. We've done sections before but not the East leg or across the top. We've been up the West side as far as Kylescu before so this time we're filling the gaps. Not much exotica, and more camper vans than expected so early.
The weather today was a bit gloomy with isolated showers. Disappointed not to see Orkney under clear blue, but there you go. No Morgans so far. A smattering of classics around the Beauly show. Three MINIs together, all LHD. One Elise. One Caterham. About five Ferrari/Mambos together. One other mixed bag of modern stuff. That's been it so far.

The road down the side of Loch Ness is a lot of fun If you think that's good, you want to try the B862 General Wade's Military Road up the South-Eastern side. You can't see Loch Ness, but there are a couple of smaller lochs and the road is just epic driving. ![[Linked Image]](https://tm-img.com/images/2022/07/24/TJH_2398.jpg)
