Baby Boomers …..your final present to the wife? I’ve been reading about Grief or Death bots. Ideal as the likely event that I will go before, as she is younger, I could give her a Deathbot . Appears that with this tech the wife can dial you up in the grave (hopefully not to nag ) and an Ai version of you (more expensive option to just a voice bot) and chat, get instructions on what to do with say the Morgan etc etc.
seems they can trawl your e mails, what’s ‘ups’, linked in, wiki for those famous and chat back !! ! It might even be able to use your log in and post a comment on this illustrious forum…? That would be a first perhaps, unless someone has left a final post to be sent, before?

This might have been a bit of tech to assist the grieving process but I can see all sorts of scenarios and scams.

PS some years back when Saga initially chased me for holidays, as a laugh I rang them to book their dearest holiday and finally said my wife was only just 21 and they said that she wouldn’t be able to go with me !! They stopped sending me their bumph ……..

I have started the process, selling my boat, my Traction engine and my second car ( a bus pass is better ) but the Morgan will stay for the foreseeable future, got to have max fun whilst both legs will still go under the steering wheel. The grandchildren already argue about the watches but as I will not be here to see it, it's not a problem, my dear wife will no doubt give them a few each.

Yes it's never too early to get your exit planned, always a vital part of any workplace scenario for me thus to me it comes readily to hand..

We inherited a house in our Close a couple of years ago from very dear friends and neighbours of ours, we miss them like hell, they were proper Devon folk born and bred in Dartmouth.
When things got difficult for them we dug in and helped where we could, they were childless and our three really had a set of ready made grandies, they had so much fun from both sides for over 42 years..
As our No2 daughter was a Solicitor in a nearby town and living with us she would spend a lot of time with them and take them for trips to Beliver on the Moor which they all loved. A nice lunch at Widecombe, a fine time was had by all.

So we marketed the house with very hearts and when we saw two cars coming into the Close we withdrew it instantly realising we had to keep this special place within the family somehow, long story short we gave it to No2 daughter, Hubby and Daughter and provided we don't croak within 7 years of transfer it should be free from Starmer's brace of rabid female Rotweilers.

They have had the Architects last month while on a visit with us so will mod it to suit their holidaying needs but ultimate retirement within the 7 - 10 year area.

They stay with us every holiday possible such is their love of South Devon @ Mum's cooking and especially her Cherry and Chocolate cakes. Not to mention swimming in the sea with Mpala (her special name for me, no we have no idea either) sounds like Impala...

Hence Henrietta (JW09MOG) 4/4 Sport in Green going to Joseph William our Son, I pick her up today from Jeremy who kindly offered to meet my train at Leominster. and look forward to a nice wee drive home.

She is subject to financial shedding too.

A heck of a lot of fun too in the process for the youngsters.

Just watched another of Ivan`s vids, and if any proff is needed that the combination of the more space one has the more one is likely to fill it with stuff that might come in handy....Just looking at the kit that Ivan has and imagining just how many young folk today might value it as did he..and us baby boomers....????

Watched another of Ivan`s vids on the MK 1 Frogeye Sprite in which he spent quite some time wandering around his collection of treasures, and eventually found what looks to me like a pretty standard pipework elbow of the type used in commercial property heating systems, and which solved a coolant re-routing issue on the Sprite, which if you have ever done something similar can justify a pile of that which to others eyes is junk... (-:

Been there and done worse than that.... In the 70`s I had a piggery building, that housed a few tons of parts collected over the years, and was working on my bro in law`s old Mk 1 Escort, found the starter motor beyond repair, thus exchanged it at the local motor factor, only to be rooting around in my piggery pile some months later and found ...you guessed it... A starter motor that was in servicable condition amongst a pile of old Land Rover and other parts from old cars I had previously scrapped, all kept just in case.... I cleared the lot out, but with all that empty space... ????
