...unfortunately her m/cycle has been stolen again, this time in Swansea.... Sigh..!
In the early 2000s, I had a lady working for me, who needed to go to Moscow on business. At the time, we took advice, including from the people she was visiting, and were told that she should have an armed person with her at all times. Thinking back, they may have suggested more than one and we may have provided more than one. Whatever the case, she was there for a few weeks with no issues or reasons for concern.
Once back in the UK, she had to go Cardiff to visit a key client.
...you can see where this is going...
The first day she was there, I received a call in the early evening, from the hospital, stating that she had been walking down the street, when someone struck her on the head with something solid; down she went, purse was taken, as were her valuables. Thankfully, other than a nasty lump on her head and a few scratches from the fall, she was fine. After awhile, we had a laugh about the prep we took to send her to Russia and yet she got mugged in the UK.
It can happen anywhere but often when you least expect.
Mike, as for your story - I had the same issue with a Mazda MX5 in the 1990s - some idiot decided to run along a row of parked cars, at the MX5 roof, his weight meant he crashed through it and blew the glass out in the process.
