Difficult to know quite where to start; my name is Ben, I've wanted a Morgan since I was 16 - when a new Plus 8 was fractionally over £2,000. Career / family / location - you name it, there's always been a good reason, but I have finally ticked the bucket list via a 2014 Roadster. I have often found that when you want something quite badly, and then eventually achieve it, there's a fractional disillusionment, a slight disappointment, a recognition of some flaws, sometimes even a very rare feeling that maybe this wasn't such a good idea after all. I'm delighted to say this has proved to be the absolute opposite, and the experience is absolutely sublime.
So, I will have many questions, both practical & impractical, it will probably take me a while to sort out which threads / forums are most useful. In the meantime, it is simply wonderful to be here. The main driver was that having toured on serious motorcycles all over Europe and North America, I realised I was somewhat more brittle than originally and I happened to test drive a Morgan (several actually) at the same time as realising the bikes (K1600GT and an HP4 Carbon) really had to go. I've loved touring, and always considered there is no better way to do that than on a motorcycle. Having been now swanning around for several days without hood, tonneau or sidescreens, I can see I may not have been entirely correct - and it's so nice not wearing a helmet.
Enough for now, thank you for letting me in, I apologise in advance for the inevitable stupid questions.

Welcome to TM Whizjet! ... sounds like the car has made an impression on you ... they're not quite like anything else on 4 wheels or 2 and carry an aura around with them ... another biker here who, haviig done a 1500 mile trip in the Morgan last year in biblical weather with all our camping gear and luggage for two weeks ... and laughed our way through just about every mile ... will take some prising away from this odd and quirky machine! ... hope you have as much fun ... no such thing as a stupid question ... ask away and someone will help out!

A warm welcome to Talk Morgan Ben / Whizjet! Your first post is a great start but for general Roadster questions, the traditional Morgan forum will be useful, where as Maintenance & Servicing can be helpful for support. Lastly, this section is where random banter and other topics get discussed. There is, of course, a lot more but those are the basics. Wishing you many happy miles.

Another welcome to TM Whizjet. Given the year I assume you have a 3.7 Roadster with 6 speed gearbox, so worth pointing that out in any technical questions you have and in the appropriate forum section as mentioned by Simon above.

Welcome Ben, there are quite a few former m/cyclists in the forum, who enjoy cruising along in shirt sleeves on a hot day as opposed to encased in leather gear and helmet... I am one of those too. I find it refreshing to read of new blood discovering the joy of Morgneering, thanks for taking time to provide an intro, and may you enjoy many happy miles in your Morgan..
