Hi, I'd be very wary of the Librands Sports Cat if I were you.
I believe the sports cat is a 200 cell honey comb compared to the standard 400 cell.
I have had 2 of them for my 4/4 and they have both failed the MOT emissions test. The first one failed the MOT within a couple of weeks of fitment and the second failed the MOT the following year.
I wish I'd never gone down this route myself
scared

Are they structurally ok, then as john said should regenerate/clean alright. Is it just the sensors that need replacing and they can get dirty too! Rear or down stream sensors are usually the most suspect. As deejay said as well another problem with Mog cats is the innards falling out.

If you have to change them out I'd also recommend Librands.

Thanks to all posters. I am now planning to rumble up to my man in Grimsby, JW at Tommy Sant who pretty much rebuilt the car a few years ago.
In answer to those posters asking how to recognise a cat issue I can only recount my experience - the exhaust note began to resemble a sickly tractor and soon after that a warning light came on which my local garage here in Suffolk confirmed was 'engine management' and also that both cats and sensors were "shot". They enquired of Rutters for replacement parts but their parts dept seem to have adopted continental holiday habits (no reply as yet). A pity as I've had the tonneau on permanently since April enjoying this fine English summer... .

Melvyn Rutter <mr@melvyn-rutter.net> try e-mailing Melvyn direct as it is most unusual for them not to reply, or phone 01279 725725 Melvyn will probably answer.
