Hi
We are currently on holiday with our morgan and the MIL light came on.
According handbook there should be an issue with the ignition
or fuel system, however the car is running perfectly. Are there
any other issues that activates the MIL ?
Any help much appreciated.

Sometimes filling the tank really full can trip the MIL if the fuel gets into the carbon canister in the breather circuit
Did you refuel recently ?

An OBD2 code reader will point to the likely cause if the MIL remains.

An OBD2 code reader will point to the likely cause if the MIL remains. Peter, I have one of these https://www.ebay.ch/itm/376399817150. Inexpensive and easy to use (but check that it matches the shape/size of your OBD port). I'll bet you will see code P0627 which is a very common fault in the fuel sender. Just delete the code and that will turn-off the MIL light.

I bought an obdii dongle and the free torque app. The dongles are on ebay

Hi again,
thanks for all the information. I took the car to a garage/workshop and the OBD error code was P0171 (running to lean). I assume the Lambda sensor is telling the ECU to inject more fuel which is more than the typical deviation from the norm.
Anyone else maybe had this issue too ?

As you suggest Peter maybe the O2 sensor is giving a reading slightly outside the ECU programmed envelope. I would be tempted, if the car is running fine, to clear the code which should also remove the MIL and continue driving. If it does reappear a new sensor may solve the problem.

We managed to get home from our holidays without any problems, but the MIL light came on again. I connected my OBD reader and it was the same issue (P0171).
When checking all the live data I have the impression the MAP sensor value is too low (23 kPa @ 1000 rpm). This might be an indication for a little air leak on the inlet side ?
For a comparison, can maybe anyone check what the value should be ? (mine is a +4 / 2006 ).

Easy to check for leaks if you carefully spray carb/inlet cleaner over the pipes after the throttle slide.
