I was looking at getting a couple of spare relays to carry on my Roadster. However I am a little puzzled as the label on the fuse box cover states that the right hand relay (of 6) is for air conditioning, which I don't have, and yet there are wires going into the underside?

Does anyone have any idea why that would be? I was thinking of disconnecting the wires and just using that slot to carry a spare relay.

Yes Les. It's simply that they standardised the chassis wiring loom to include that option. You can see the unused aircon connectors cable tied back under the n/s wheel arch. It's also the same loom for left or right hand drive cars with redundant wiring for screenwash and brake fluid indication. Redundancy can be found elsewhere behind the dash with loom accomodating switch connectors for all the unused positions for options not taken. Similarly at rear of car for reversing and rear fog connections, which I used to advantage to allow twins of both using a pair of red/white LED's.

The relay base was for six identical relays so they filled it whether aircon was chosen or not. Not so different from including spare fuses, you can use the redundant air-con one if needed elsewhere.

Strongly suggest you leave wiring alone. Removal will serve no purpose and does leave the option of retro-fitting aircon.

Thanks Richard - I'll leave well alone then and just have that relay as a spare, as you suggest.

I don't think I'll bother with a spare Wiper Delay relay though as I can live without that temporarily.

I made lables and revised / corrected the fuse layout legends, note the engine vs body fuse carriers are flipped the wrong way round in the handbook or fuse box top label

(I should really label my aircon as 'spare')

If you do want a spare wiper delay relay Les it's a six pin Wehrle 60 201 002, source below.

Although I carry quite a few spares for my car I don't keep one of those on the shelf though.

I had that diagram key problem on my previous Plus 4. I'll have a closer look at my Roadster diagram and see if I need to do the same.

Yep the diagram is wrong & the relay for the aircon is a spare.
For som reason my realys used to move up & disconnect themselves. I fixed foam to the cover to keep them down.

You'll see I've flipped the legends top to bottom, colour coded and then laminated 'em, kept ready in the fusebox so when something goes pop in the dark, on a wet windy night...

Purely for my own information, I 'mailed the factory yesterday about the actual number of Roadster 3.7 110 edition that were built, I received an almost instant reply ( well the next day actually ) from a nice lady Verity Norman who advised me the works built 148 of them so not that common then so perhaps I had better hang on to this one for a while.

Was there much difference between the 110 anniversary Roadsters and others built April 2018 to end of production Reg thinking. I have a copy of the brochure and all I can see is the bonnet badges and option to have "110" embroidered on headrests. They will likely all be well spec'd though given the large number of promotional no cost options for that year.
