...on your Morgan? I seem to have imprinted on my +4 like a baby duck on its mother. I find it a bit captivating, even spellbinding at times. Don't quite know why or how long that will last. Does love fade? I met Mrs. A 37 years ago, and find her as delightful as ever, but a car? In any event, I found myself out early one morning with a cup of tea and a Swedish snus staring at my car and wondering to myself what exactly I find so visually enjoyable about it. It's the whole package of course, the whole joyful, anachronistic madness of the thing, but it struck me that for whatever unfathomable reason there are two things in particular that I just love. One is the louvers on the side of the bonnet, and the other is the way the headlight nacelles blend seamlessly into the rest of the bodywork at the front of the car.

If you had to point out just one or two design elements that particularly catch your fancy, what would they be?

What I love about my Morgan is the driving position over the rear wheels and the sight of that long bonnet pointing the way ahead. Also the idea of its slow but utterly practical evolution. A beautiful machine developed over many many years since inception.

Is it just me as a numb nut or are there more who had to look up Nacelles ?
It is also my fav bit of design even if it is cracked at the join. Front facing projections like headlights are just asking to be touched and caressed with a duster……washing the length of that bonnet and cleaning the louvers a thing to enjoy. Cleaning a Morgan can be sensual pastime unlike the Volvo . I would get a man in for that or anEastern European wash team in for that .

Side profile of any of the four wheeled Morgans - the swoop of the front wing, down to the base of the rear arch and then up and over the rear wheel.

If you made me pick one profile, it would be the Aeromax... I could happily spend hours looking at the lines of it. From the line of the front wing, to the line of the bonnet and the curve of the roof, down to the rear wheel arch details, Matt Humphries did an amazing job.

I'm very happy to read these posts as it proves that I am not alone ( nor suffering from any incurable disease ) i have to go out to the MotorHouse where my Moggie lives and say hello every day, I also often just sit in it visualizing a drive on the Mille Miglia which I did in Morgan No3. They are fabulous things unlike any other car around and I've had a few.

Here for a good time not a long time!!

Looking through the windscreen along the bonnet. Headlamp nacelles in that context mimic the pricked ears of an enthusiastic horse galloping towards the horizon.

I always believe that the sign of a beautiful car is when you park it, start to walk away, and have to turn around for one more look before it is out of sight.

Or if you live in a big city and you take one more look cos you might never see it again! 🙂

For me, it's the head-on view with the screen folded flat and the aeroscreens on ... nothing quite like it!

Adam what year is your car, mine suffered cracked nacelles due to faulty wings being supplied around 2013. They were bonded instead of being welded, mine were repaired under warranty. Did yours slip through the net ?
