Put deposit down on MY22 automatic Plus Four, so if all goes well hopefully mine in week or so time.

In trying to find the current state of the radiator revisions on the car etc.I had an interesting talk with Morgan sales and after sales (,they originally sold the car from the factory to the owner and know him well). Basically they told me don't me worry about any radiator issues (if any) they will sort out FOC , for now at least They also pointed out a lot of the CX's haven't experienced a radiator issue. I suppose being in a Morgan forum, the density of such issues may be more magnified than one may encounter in a wider community. All very reassuring, Mind you they also did advise having a recovery membership, something we both laughed at, when I pointed out I only ever had a recovery membership when owning any one of my five previous Morgans. Nothing ever really changes.

They also advised me to get it serviced with them and they will sort any issues on the car out, Can't ask for much more than that. I appreciate there's a price attached to that, but that very personal interaction was much appreciated and valued.

So I'm looking forward to coming over to the what some might consider the dark side of Morganeering, I'll put up pictures once I get a chance in the coming days.

I was looking for a least an MY23 car , but the polished wood interior on this one , so trad. just did it for me.

Well done!
My MY23 auto has not had any coolant/rad issues with 18k+ miles so far. MMC seem to have sorted the early cars' issues.
The CX's are a step forward ( ignore the cost!).
I just had acwarranty paint bubble job done and easy to deal with. The software was upgraded at the same time as a matter of course.

Reassuring to hear the positives. as its hopefully becoming my daily driver. Sue is commandeering my Mercedes Coupe and the SLK is sadly going after sterling service for many years. We have a double garage, but we live so close to the sea, if we had kept the SLK having to be left outside all the time in the salty air wasn't a good option. It deserved better than that. Also a little commonsense has to come into the equation 2 people 3 cars, when you can only drive one each at a time doing less than 8k miles a year in total, was getting a little indulgent.

Whilst I may have to have the seat slightly further forward because of the intrusive folded hood frame, having decent left leg room with be almost luxury in a Morgan.

A few minor niggles, all sorted (or due to be) by MMC under warranty, but nothing major, and certainly I've had no radiator issues.

The car will be with them for servicing in March next year, and at the same time they have said they will address the outstanding issues that I've given them even though it's well outside the warranty period by then.

Great aftersales service, and whilst it's a pity that the car has a few issues, it's also a pleasure to have an excuse to re-visit the factory!

Having spent the best part of 50 years driving Trad 4/4s (still the best of that breed in my option) I purchased a manual Plus Four a couple of years ago. It's a great car!

Hi John, excellent news. You’ll not regret it. Had my MY21 Plus Four auto a year this week & loving it. Tripled the mileage (although it had only done 1100 !). No issues with the radiator, and performance & economy are amazing. Only issue of note was it failed it’s MOT due to the handbrake - noted in another thread so sounds like it’s not uncommon. Fortunately my local garage managed to tweak it through…!! It had a full service a couple of months later at Allon White & they weren’t concerned, so I’ll make sure it goes there for future MOT’s
Enjoy..

After a 4.5 hour journey to get there, I got to see the car in person today and drive it. and I wasn't in the least bit disappointed . I was really surprised by the difference in the ride compared to a trad and the automatic is a joy to drive. Whilst it was a short drive, it was as comfortable as the Mercedes we drove down in and the acceleration even in standard mode was staggering for the size of engine.. Over the moon with the car., cant wait to collect it. Love the look of the interior, especially the wooden steering wheel, which is so preferable to the standard fare.

The Dark side:-

Very much like mine, being only manual. You won't regret it. Only one radiator replaced, minor leak during service. It's a dream of a car. Congratulations and many happy miles. You could consider a Nitron upgrade, brings the Mog to an even higher level!! love drive thumbs
