Here in Sweden we are of course known for our snowy winters. I have tucked my car away for the winter at a facility rather far from where I live, both because I live in a flat and don't have a garage and because I assume it's not doable/sheer madness to drive a Morgan when the white stuff is falling. But then I got to thinking -- with a decent set of (maybe studded) snow tires and a pair of those heated gloves, maybe it could work? Or is there too little weight over the rear wheels to get any grip?

Adam ... you'll no doubt shortly have a gallery of 'Morgans in the Snow' appear here 🙂 ... certainly in the UK it's the amount of salt they put down that's more of a barrier than the actual snow.

Yes Adam, it's good fun as long as you treat the pedals as you treat your partner..

When I used to go to work I used my 4 seater as the daily driver. I usually had the hood up in winter as it was too much effort to keep on putting the hood up then taking it down again and I didn't like turning up for work looking like I had been wild swimming!

Snow was a different experience, eerily quiet with the lack of road noise. I thought I would stay dryer as the white stuff blew away over the hood...... until I found it blowing around in the cockpit!!!

Adam, Back in the early eighties I was living in Wales and there was often snow in winter. The Morgan was my only car and it was quite a way to work so snow or no snow I had to use it. There was one memorable morning , at the bottom of a long hill, with several vehicles abandoned, a policeman approached and said something like, "ah a Moggie, you'll get up there alright so off you go" and I did.

Not intentionally but Allon White's fitted a new hood to my S1 Roadster when the beast from the east was around. Ilived in Bucks with plenty of hills.
The car got me home but the throttle control was hard work, a bit too much & the back was away.

Calum, I have done that on two wheels...Nuts or what, but not these days, too old and feeling the cold, not only that I am not up for the level of maintenance required to stop the rot from gaining hold in the nooks and crannies as I once was, thus perhaps a tad more precious in terms of preservation of myself and my Mog than I once was.... Though looking at your wonderful image, gotta say I`m tempted..(-:

Some of the best runs are in cold winter conditions but the de-crudding of the car afterwards can be hard going. There's a few times I've ended up with a ring of black ice on the street around the car as I'm hosing it down while trying to stay upright. Apparently it's character building... laugh

Absolutely up here in the mountains I stop when the temperatures get below -5C (old age), it was -12C this morning.
