Has anyone heard the difference between the standard audio system and the Sennheiser upgrade? Trying to work out if it's worth adding the upgrade, I have heard the standard audio system and wasnt particularly impressed. Any thoughts or if there is a more cost effective solution that is almost as good..

I have a Sennheiser system in my Mercedes Coupe, and whilst it's a good system, it's in a closed car with less background amd wind noise etc so much quieter inside than a Morgan, with lots of different speakers just about everywhere, I wouldn't pay £3k extra/more for it. THE standard system is ok for an open topped car, I can hear the music at motorway spreeds, not a great depth/quality from the speakers, but I'm sure better speakers would help
Could the same be achieved by replacing the standard system with a specialist installation for less?

My Plus Four is equipped with the basic audio system The quality is poor I only use it for the GPS navigation, and certainly not for listening to music.

I'm very happy with the quality of the Sennheiser system in my car, volume has to be up at Motorway speeds, but that's the same in most vehicles. Shame that change is manual, with the awkward positioning of the volume knob. It would be feasible to change volume from the connected phone / bluetooth controller, but MMC state that the phone input (volume) into the system should be high, and then (presumably) all sound is adjusted by the car volume controller.
On the one occasion the bluetooth module in the car failed to connect I was left with just the soundtrack of the engine and exhaust. I was not disappointed!

You can buy a Bluetooth device that acts as a remote control to your phone volume on ebay. I use it on the standard system and it works well. See round device on the dash. It also stops starts tracks and skips backwards or forwards ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2024/12/17/20241217_150330.jpg) Misted dials are extra

Thank-you for taking the time to reply. I guess I need to try and hear the Sennheiser, the standard system didn't sound good at all!. Then its just a question of the 3K+ asking price
Thanks once again

Remember it is a open top and whilst the cx is quieter than the trad it still will be what 80dBa on the road.

You can buy a Bluetooth device that acts as a remote control to your phone volume on ebay. John, yes I've seen those, thanks. But back to the MY23 Plus Four and Plus Six handbook, page 23: "WARNING Please ensure whilst listening to music on the premium audio system via a connected Bluetooth® device i.e. mobile phone, that the connected device’s volume is always set to maximum volume."So although I could control the volume from a Bluetooth device, MMC are saying that I shouldn't (or baaaad things will happen ...)

Interesting I don't think the my22 says that. Surely different phones have different max volumes. I guess though if that hidden volume knob is at max and the phone at min but then you ramp up the phone it will cause distortion and damage.

Here is the my 22 manual Bluetooth® Module The Bluetooth® streaming module allows music playback from a Bluetooth® compatible device (e.g. smartphone or tablet). To pair your device, turn the ignition key, enable Bluetooth® on your device. The Morgan vehicle will appear in the list of available devices as “MusicStream” or “Morgan”. The pairing process only needs to be performed once per device. Play audio using your device and it will be heard through the vehicle speakers. The playback volume can be adjusted using the knob under the dashboard as well as the volume control on the device itself. NOTE: The system does not provide hands free calling operation.
