In a word or two... (-: I suspect not in some ways and perhaps better in other ways.... ?

I ever liked the system using cellulose based paints, which were relatively simple to repair, the idea of water based paints did not attract this old Luddite.. On the other hand relative to the health and safety of those involved in the MMC paint processes, I suspect there have been considerable improvements mad over the years..?

I agree with you in every aspect. The regulatory-acceptable paints (water based) are not great for the cars. In 2002, my 1984 was recreated by the Factory during the
height of the infamous Superform bubbling plague (1997 to ?). But my province allows pretty much anything to be used on a designated classic. After the first year, I
had it resprayed in cellulose and kept doing so (knicked parts or the entire car when needed) every winter for more than a a decade. After all what's a winter for?
, when we stopped constant usage. Nary a bubble.

On a related subject, I am trying to decide between trying a self-healing top coats versus a professional ceramic treatment.

Anyone have personal experience?

P.S. I am curious, George. My other UK Plus 8 was restored by Kevin Vernon as yours was. How has your undercoating, wings and body, held up. I was quite impressed.

Hi Lorne, I trust all is well with you and yours.
For sure Kevin did a grand job, though I think he may have retired now as he used to provide me with insurance valuations every three years or so, though seeing the falling values of Trads and all classics and that these days I feel my old Mog owes me nothing, I am not up for driving half way up the East coast to have Scotlands only morgan dealer perform a valuation... Shrug.
As for the condition I have managed to put a scrape or two on it`s once immaculate Kevin applied finish, and there is a small bubble in a couple of locations which I proudly think of patina... (-: A tad like a ramble I think you posted on GoMoG quite a few years back..?

Should you be desirous of viewing my Mog`s rust bubbles, more than happy to go out in search of them with my old camera and post the pics on TM for you.
