Just fitted some Osram LED sidelight bulbs alongside some whiter brighter Halogen bulbs (also Osram). Amazing to have a white bright light vs the previous dim orange output. Keeps the classic headlight look vs the LED headlight units some folk fit. Will report back on longevity… only bulb change in last decade was a headlight bulb on the Craig-lead Grindelwald trip 2 1/2 yrs ago!

If you want to go all LED with the original look I would recommend trying the H4 P43TLED-PP43 from Classic Bulbs, a direct replacement. A big improvement over the Halogen units and they run much cooler and don't melt the plastic plug for the bulb, as sometimes happens.

Thanks but an MOT fail in the UK as I understand... although if the colour is ok then an MOT tester might not notice... and your linked bulb is not too bulky either... hmmm

I am sure you are correct technically Paul but I have had these fitted for 3 or 4 years with no MOT issues. They are considerably better performance than the original halogen bulbs, draw less current, run cooler and are a straight swop. If your MOT tester objects it's not a big deal to refit some halogens for the test.
