Well you know what they say. If it looks like bulls**t and smells like bulls**t, then it probably is bulls**t. As already observed above, the customer cars haven't been out long enough to draw those sort of conclusions.

On the question of can you use an M3W everyday, my guess is that, weather apart, it's more convenient than a motorbike/scooter which many people do use as everyday vehicles?

Given the undertone of negativity in certain minority parts of the Morgan world, I'm never surprised to see posts such as this.

I'll judge the reliability and build quality after real customers have had the chance to put some miles on their cars.

Lance, iirc, wasn't he the chap who started the Malvern Roadster thread and was quick to call it a Kit Car? Hmmm...

I drove the Brands Hatch demonstrator when it was first out of the box in November and posted my driving experience at the time, which included speedo not working, very noisy bevel box, and hanging engine revs. Otherwise I loved it.

I drove the same car about 10 days ago which has now had the latest mods.

The bevel box noise had completely disappeared and was now absolutely fine (and I am not deaf!), the speedo worked, and the throttle response was great. Car was tremendous fun to drive.

I placed my final specification order a few minutes later.

Can't comment on other issues but please be assured that the latest car now seems very much more finished, and many of the comments above concerning quality are already out of date. I expect more issues will need to be resolved but the signs are good imho.

I was all set to pop down to Mike Duncan's today to drive his demonstrator but sadly its back at the factory with charging problems......a shame, gorgeous day today. But heyho.....these things can happen, not the end of the world and I can't wait to try it when its back.

Not sure if this has been said before, but it all comes down to what a daily drive is. Personally I will not use it as a daily driver a I drive 45km to work every day and 45km back. However, if you work nearby or dont work and it is the "daily drive" is simply to go and get the paper then why not, weather permiting, drive it daily.

Danny, I'm in agreement with you.

To me a daily driver is a 'get in and go' vehicle. I don't want to have to think about what the weather is going to do, where I will be able (not able) to park it or have concerns about the security of the contents. Also, whilst you need to pay attention when driving (not trying to state the obvious!) there are degrees of concentration and I prefer my daily driver to be relatively docile and easy to drive (ABS, traction control, etc).

Personally, I don't view the Morgan Three Wheeler as a daily driver, any more than I view it as a Track Car (way to go Top Gear!) - that doesn't mean I wouldn't choose to drive it every day for an entire week, mid summer, sun shining, to and from the office if the mood took; however, I am also realistic and can't see the appeal of using it mid winter, in the UK, when I'd be freezing and wet! In essence, I view it as a mood car - when the mood takes, I'd drive it. Not because I had to but rather because I wanted to.

To be honest that is exactly what I have been doing with my classic cars. They are indeed mood cars and so will the 3 wheeler be. And truth be told, I have driven to work in them loads of times, sat on my desk still smiling and then as the day goes along dreading the moment to go home. The noise, the traffic, the darkness (we all know LUCAs...), and just wishing I could teleport myself avoiding to drive.

The best way to keep rumors going is to keep repeating them!

What we have on this site is at least four owners and many more who have driven the cars in the real world! And many who have good contacts within the MMC family that can be quoted.

If you have an experience to recount, do so. And please quote sources. It helps justify (or refute) as appropriate. As long as its 'factual', we'll listen. As for 'rumours' and innuendo.....

Oh by the way, I heard a rumor that there are some very bitter and twisted people in small corners of the Morgan world. Honestly Guv!

It'll be a daily drive for me, although I work much from home and/or can time my leaving and coming reasonably.

HID lamps might be something I want to invest in if it gets all too dreary in winter.
