Car and Classic, auction closes in an hour or two and currently stands at Β£29,000. One I would go for if I had the space (and the spare cash).

Now the older generation enthusiast Morgan owners are fading away this particulary noisy model will prove impossible to move on as indeed is being witnessed already so think carefully - buy it for the pure joy not for retention of value or saleability.

I have always thought the dashboard to be much too busy and not attractive in design, appealing to boy racers possibly.

I'll confess to being a minimalist though and like my cars as they came out of the factory without bolt on gizmoes...

Low numbers, short production run.......... usually spells trouble in Morgan world......πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™‚οΈπŸ˜‚
Although.....to be fair....... large number and long production run often spells trouble in Morgan world as well........πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

There's a 1700ml Plus four on car and classic for Β£44k......
It's not too far from Β£39,995....... which is where they'll be later this year.....πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ

Perhaps Rich is right, the older generation of Morgan owner is probably a dying breed....... certainly thinning out a bit, and there certainly doesn't seem to be the numbers of new trad owners coming through looking at the amount of cars for sale....πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ

I don’t believe it reached the reserve, Β£48,000 is now the asking price post auction.

Now that is interesting, I watched it live and they said now closed at 40k, so the reserve was higher is that it ?

I don't know anything about auctioneering.

P.S. still 10k below the similar Perranwell one so someone got a good deal.

That Plus Four has to be good value.

Julian, are you tempted ?

I think we are also seeing a transition from trads to CX, I was at a noggin the other week and a few of us were gathered around my car with some being trad owners, and they were all for the transition across,to a CX but found that there weren't enough automatic CX at the moment on the used market None of the those, I was chatting to, wanted a manual CX, as most of them had mobility issues usually around the clutch operation

..It could just be a case of like minded people gathering together like bees around a honey pot, but I wasn't surprised, at the direction the discussion took , as they all made the point an automatic will keep them in the brand for much longer.

Your comments endorse my comment on the older brigade being in transition physically, combined with the necessary invention of new young customers more used to electric scooters and manicured nails is the only future for MMC.

So the raw Trads will vanish and hang in the market just like their owners - myself included in (75) there - I won't be selling or transitioning once the manual V8 and 4/4 Sport are not possible that's it for me the end of a wonderful unadulterated experience (thirty something years now) which I have been so lucky in many ways to be able to tap into and still service and repair is all part of (painful) joy of ownership for me.

HFS pure genius.

I’ve always liked the ARP4, the bright painted underwear and the fancy suspenders were an attractive feature, probably quite demanding of attention though when out and about, exciting but highly strung I believe.
