What type of Morgan is the red one? Is there really a digital display between the instruments?
Greetings Jens If you click on the picture to zoom, it looks to me like it's two analogue gauges - one probably a fuel gauge and the other, I guess, could be oil temp. Please don't tell me that Land Rover monstrosity is the Defender replacement? That's what they say. Or rather, they attempt to renew the design and gauge (harh, harh) the interest. Personally I think, that if they stop the classic defender style and go for such a surfer wannabe vehicle, they'll loose a lot of customers looking to swap to a newer model.

I'll be hanging on to my 2002 Td5 Hardtop if that's the way the future's going

I think that's the new Roadster that I saw at the factory having its final check before going on the transporter to the show.

Haven't looked at the piccies. Though I can guess what you're referring to - there have been other pictures. Unfortunately, the old 'Defender' shape isn't going to pass various vehicle laws (I'm told, but I can't get hold of my cousin who is a senior engineer with LR, to get confirmation) - though quite why not I don't understand, after all HGVs are hardly likely to be 'corrupted' in such a fashion... Definitely hanging on to my 200Tdi, but then I've given it an extra 20+ years life, so I'm hardly going to lose that Cheers,

Yes, to replace the iconic Defender will for sure not be an easy task...especially if you still want it to be repairable and maintained in the middle of nowhere and also to keep that special carisma you always hear from Defendrer owners. The rumours are that it will not be on the market until earliest 2015...still time for fine tuning I still have problems forgetting my fantastic 110 Td5...will carefully follow the coming years progress. If I do not like the replacer...I will just buy one of the end production the "Classics" and it will probably last the rest of my career. Friday!

The pictures I've seen of the new Defender in the motoring press rather suggest that fashion has something to do with the design.....probably designed by the same team who came up with the ridiculous (well in 3 door form) Evoque!

They are probably fishing for feedback...Lets hope it is still time to deliver a design that shows more urge for mud, gravel and the daily challenges in an active country life more than city tarmac and high heels.
