Ah Twasn't you I passed on the Fosse way earlier then? VX60 on the plate, heading south towards Cirencester...

Thanks chaps for your advice which has saved me the thick end of £100. Went for a drive around Cirencester this morning in the sun and the baseball cap was great. Being a septuagenarian I still remember my grandfather wearing a flat cap, but not for me! Thanks again. Jack ___________________________ 2009 4/4 Sport I never found flat caps really fitted me...use to wear them years ago when I was out shooting. I may...just MAY get one to wear for the Le Mans Classic.....no harm in looking a bit retro!

No, not those either. I passed around Ciren mid afternoon then headed north up the Fosse. Other car was doing simialr to me (but going south) - stuck in a slowish queue behind LGVs - in my case two cattle trucks with horses followed by a 4x4 towing horse trailer. Would have passed the lot going up the hill to Stow, but the blinkered blonde bimbo in the Golf ahead of me pulled into my overtake causing heavy braking and almost a tailgating Volvo on my luggage rack... Hope tomorrow's trip to Llangollen is quieter! Cheers,

Although they're best known for their cowboy hats stetson make some great caps from the motorists's point of view. http://www.stetson-europe.com/

I use a baseball-style cap (a plain one, I dislike logos) in summer. In winter, an insulated/waterproof hat with a peak and earflaps keeps sun out and warmth in - like this one from Lowe Alpine: http://www.cotswoldoutdoor.com/index.cfm...9/id_colour/124I reckon sunvisors would simply be in the way when folded down. OTOH if folded up they could be useful wind deflectors! Flat caps, not my cup of tea at all.

I had visors fitted at the factory when I bought my 4/4 sport - good as visors both up and down when topless - ndepending where the sun is - also they work well as deflectors when topless. I thought they were expensive to have fitted - but they have been very useful.

That Stetson stuff looks very cool. I wear a Stetson bobble cap in my Morgan in wintertime. Stetson offers so much choices I think I will find some stuff which protects against sun beams also.
