A couple of days ago the only flying DH88 (Groevesnor House) flipped on landing and was badly damaged. Will be a shame if she never flies again as it was an iconic aircraft. From clips I've seen over the years, being a racing aircraft, it was challenging (aka 'a pig') to land and ground-handle and this time it bit hard ... thankfully with no lasting harm to the pilot.

She'll fly again. Shuttleworth will fix her. Not the first time - last crash was 2002 (although took 12yrs to get her airworthy again)

I did some work (fett on Grovenor house when I was an apprentice ,circa 1960 ,
Why i and a carpenter got involved i have no idea ,but it was situated in the old hangar
Next to the original nimrod- converted comet .
Ithink that had been subject to a ground hadling accident and propobaly done on the quiet.

Wow, stunning, I did not realise it was still flying. Thanks.

Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

Well, won't be for a while ... but Shuttleworth have put out a release officially confiming they intend to rebuild her to flying condition ... a big job as, in the vid I saw, she appeared to break her back as she nosed over.!
