Don't think its ilegal but it would have to be declared to your insurance company as a modification for sure.

Just put it into AI: yes its regarded as illegal to remove safety equipment if used on the road. It's also regarded as a major defect when submitting it for an MOT.

It maybe a modified Speedster which came from the factory without air bags.

Dreadful, but sadly it doesn't surprise me at all. I have posted here previously about badly written advertisements but it seems that even main dealers don't have access to someone with basic skills in spelling or grammar. A free online tool like Grammarly would have picked up most of the errors but apparently not worth the bother.

I particularly winced at: "traditional Morgan waterfall chrome grill at the back however there is a lovely good-sized truck to store luggage." The waterfall grill at the back must be hidden by that truck.

99 pictures, but not one showing the car with the hood up. Pitiful. frown

Absolutely Ian, the waterfall did shout at me but tbh I didn't know where to stop.

The missing shot of the roof up is unforgivable when 99 with many duplicates were proferred.

It just says I can't be arsed as I am earning too much or they don't know any better...

Whatever the reason a place best avoided as I do, it's my nearest dealer but not been there since 2011 (my !st 4/4 Sport warranty 4th new fractured windscreen fitted) as I prefer the security of doing my own repairs or maintenance.

Happy with young Bradley's work at the time but anything serious Perranwell sort so that's once in 30 years and Darcy was rebuilding an E type Moss box on the bench at the time.

In general a complete truck up this advertisement..

I just want to weigh in on your obvious dislike for poor spelling and punctuation. Unfortunately, some of us are dyslexic and don’t always get it right, a quick email would have probably done to alert me to the errors. I wish I could get everything correct but I’m only human. I don’t like using AI and sometime Word misses’ things. I also think it’s important for people to see that the write ups are written individually rather than copy and pasted. It’s about the car after all.
As for pictures of the roof up, it’s a convertible, surely the roof should always be down!? If you’re interested in the car, phone me and I can get photos of the roof up sent over. It’s good to talk after all.
We’re only a small team here at Berrybrook so it’s not that we’re “shoddy”, we have to wear many hats.

Anyway, the errors are corrected now thanks for the heads up.

We have a fair number of dyslexic members on TM and they like the rest of us human members on here make the odd stray word and mistake but the context is never lost.

I do struggle with .spaceframe !! Kevin Costin Kevin Costin was the man for those.

Well done getting the rest of it in some semblence of order.

The reason that anyone needs to see the roof and cockpit cover is to A prove it has one and that it is intact. When you are spending £65k it is a minimum requirement and B a heavy shower of rain is not the time to discover it has been chewed by rats or mice.

We are always here to assist you in any way we can as a forum as we have today.

As we raised the legality of the car sans airbags - could you possibly explain how the car will pass the MOT as we are a little puzzled.

If a car isn't of retailable standard, we won't sell it, we're not a private sale and try to hide something.

Ref the M.O.T of the airbag.

I have spoken to our M.O.T tester and clarified the airbag quiery for you. To fail the airbag has to:
(a) An airbag fitted as original equipment obviously missing Major
(b) Not in use
(c) An airbag obviously inoperative Major

As you can probably see from numerous photos of the dash, the airbag isn't "obviously" missing( no wires hanging out, SRS symbols, stickers, badges or any pointers saying it was there), it also isn't "obviously" inoperative as there is no signs or lights on. An M.O.T tester's job is see what is infront of them, they don't have to research what spec a car originally came with. So on that front, it's a pass.

The plates however would be a fail if presented to a tester. We would make Berrybrook branded plates and fit them before a test so it passses.

I hope this answers the question. If anyone is interested in the car, please pop in, phone or email me.

Thanks for your reply - re the airbags, surely if they appear on the build sheet or notice of conformity that changes the requirement.

We are not being difficulty here just seeking the facts of the matter as a few of us are confused and would like to know where we would stand if we whipped the airbags out due to their lack of aesthetics, i.e. the bulky OE steering wheel.

We realised the plates are illegal but it is a chance people take - in the same way that bikers remove their rear number plates to avoid detection with the ANPR's et al.

I may swing by on my way to Revival and take a look if it's still there.

If you present the COC upon the test then maybe however I doubt any owner would be that anal.
