We have a Renault 5 it’s amazing, now a convert too.

Went for the Anderson Quartz charger, think they are now doing a deal with EDF which gives you more cheap electric.

I chatted today to an English guy in Slovenia who parked his Kia EV9 (?) next to my car .Gosh that is an ugly lump ! I asked him how his trip was and he said it was fine in France for charging but Germany was a bit difficult. He also has a Tesla Y (no idea what that is) but he prefers the Kia.
He was adamant that I could do the trip from London to Slovenia in an EV without too many stops ( we only stop for a pee & coffee normally) In fact he suggested I swap the XC60 for the new electric one which supposedly has a great range ?
The trouble is I don’t have a large drive, and the houses are terrace or end of terrace, so how do I charge conveniently !?
Funnily enough as I drove away a minute ev car, front seat driver only and his wife in the one seat behind . It was tall and very narrow, looked like the wind would blow it over, Peel size but with a backseat .
It had something like econoline on the side and an e logo on the back, very box like, any idea what it was ?

Best MM
.

Personally, I think the Kia EV6 / Hyundai Ioniq 5 is another one worth looking at, if the deal isn’t done AND, as much as I am not a fan of ‘the M-word’, Tesla model 3 is hard to argue against, especially if she has to do a lot of miles and could benefit from their charging stations.
In April, I bought a Kia EV3 GT with the 85 kw battery. Official range is 375 miles. I’ve barely done a couple of thousand miles but am averaging 4.2 m/kwh. Very happy with it so far. Thankfully, it has a few buttons for commonly used things rather than being all menu driven. (I rode with a friend in her Renault ev and she apologised for the radio being so loud as she hadn’t yet worked out how to turn it down!)
As my annual mileage is relatively low, I simply charge it on a granny charger which although it might take over 24 hours, that is no bother to me and I think the battery will appreciate it as well rather than having 100s of kw up its jacksy. 🥵
My previous Volvo XC40 was 3.4 times as expensive to run even when you compare petrol to ordinary electricity tariff rates. (and that was when petrol was £1.58/litre; remember thise days?.)
