Atalanta Motors is back with a new Sports Tourer in the spirit of its pre-WWII cars: http://www.autominded.com/1481_atalanta-is-back-after-75-years Unlike Morgan's traditional models, Atalanta has been gone for 75 years. Plus the traditional Morgans have evolved mechanically to keep a crisp driving feel (such as utilising wider, more modern tyres.) Still, the Atalanta offers an alloy body over ash frame. That sounds quite familiar.

That thing looks good. Now, make it a coupe and black, and you have a Bonnie & Clyde thing on your hands

That thing looks good. Now, make it a coupe and black, and you have a Bonnie & Clyde thing on your hands According to the story there were nine different versions available of the original 1930s run of cars, including a coupe...so all they need now is a place to mount a few Tommy Guns, eh?

The Atlanta chassis is interesting. Note the rear suspension. Harald

Looks complex, but probably not much more complex than some modern motorcycle rear suspension systems. All in all an interesting solution to eliminate coil spring/damper towers.

That's something I miss from Autocar these days.....as a lad I loved those drawings I wonder how close to the original the new car will be?

Looks as if the old chassis could be prone to some serious midbody twisting, but I do like the look of the resurrected model. Has it got three windscreen wipers?

It looks as if it is a simple trailing arm setup. Half the 2CV system:
