Yesterday I visited the Nippleshop in order to get the required bits to centralise the greasing of the front suspension on my 1992 4/4. Not knowing the thread size of my existing grease nipples I removed the bottom offside and took it with me and was subsequently advised that it was 1/8" BSP. I was then given two kits, NS9024MOG containing 2 x 1/8"BSP stud elbows and NS9000MOG containing 2 x M6 x 1 stud elbows with the explanation that "if one side is 1/8 BSP the other is always M6"
I am not an engineer and only an apprentice mechanic but this sounds bizarre, can anyone confirm this or offer the benefit of their experience before I start on the job?
