When you take ideas from just one source and use them for your own purposes, it's called plagiarism and is generally frowned upon.

When, however, you take ideas from multiple sources and use them for your own purposes, it's called Research, and is generally applauded :-)

Oxford dictionary definition of research is "the systematic investigation into and study of materials and sources in order to establish facts and reach new conclusions".

Where in that does it say research has to be done by one individual? Ever heard of research partnerships??

Please do not selectively quote me.. I said Magnesium and Carbon Fibre.....

Bravo!!!!!!

Well that would be sad news...and the only cars ever built would be Mercedeses (many suggests that Karl Benz created the first true automobile in 1885/1886, patent DRP No. 37435).

Steal with pride - glorious future cheers

For me, at the moment, the Aerotrad concept does not work a bit to faux, butt then my views may change in time- a dozenyears ago I simply did not get Morgans. The big issue I see with a new chassis for a trad is cost. I seem to recall reading somwhere that the Aero chassis is 20 times more expensive than the trad chassis.

Many years ago, in a letter from a French exchange student, he described a friend's father as a plagiarist. The fellow actually owned the rights to a section of beach at Ste Maxime, where he could charge for deck chairs etc. Ho hum! laugh2

Dictionary definition again: "an act or instance of using or closely imitating the language and thoughts of another author without authorization and the representation of that author's work as one's own, as by not crediting the original author"

How the heck are Morgan doing any of that when they are clearly partners with Oak and indeed sponsors!!! confused

If you want to continue to bash Morgan then you need to try harder... hide

I think Hamwich's words were said in jest as evidenced by the smilie. I certainly didn't read it as a criticism of MMC.

Indeed they were not, I was simply reiterating a (very) old joke. The essential point is that everybody learns from everybody else, which is where progress comes from.

Far from trying to criticise MMC, I am enormously supportive of what they are doing currently. If the tie-up with Oak racing gets MMC access to advanced carbon fibre technology, then absolutely great. I know there are some die-hard Morgan traditionalists who would prefer that MMC only ever build trad cars with sliding axle suspension, but I'm not one of them! :-) :-)
