Neither lotus or Ferrari are offering a modern underpinnings with a pre-war body, my point being that the attraction of a 4/4 or other trad is MMC give you the whole vintage package, coach built body, stiff springs and a flexible chassis albeit with an engine and brakes fit for current road conditions, at mid market money. If Morgan engineered a modern stiff chassis for the 4/4 I wouldn't buy it because 1600cc/120 bhp and £35000 wouldn't do it for me. smile
I agree the Roadster is pushing the current configuration but you are moving into a different price bracket, and a +6 version of the new +8 would have a lot going for it.

Not for me. I love everything about my Morgan, but for me the (front) suspension is the least favourite feature on the Morgan. (I guess I will be expelled now hide)
There are plenty of classic cars with good suspension and that doesnt make them less classic or give them less charm. I dont see why hanging on to something less optimal makes the car more enjoyable. All IMHO of course. For arguments sake lets suppose that Morgan had converted to wishbones in the mid fifties. Would we love our cars less now?

Mogwire has updated his report -

"The Works has amended the figures stating they will build 700 M3Ws, 100 Aero-types and 600 classics."

His "Morgan Mole" must be very reliable if he is required to amend or correct his stories. smirk2

700 M3Ws means that they hope to clear the current order backlog in one year and that if you order one today you won't see it until this time next year.

Good news for those who have already placed an order.

Wonder what the order rate is now, compared to the fist few months? smile
It's all good for the brand!

I suspect there might be a drop off in MTW orders once the early adopters have all got their orders in, then a bounce back once the ownership experiences start settling down, and it'll settle down to a steady stream of a few hundred a year maybe?

I reckon I'll give it a year to work through all the early production issues, then bung an order in once the waiting period gets down to something sensible like 3 months or so. That should also give me enough time to save up the necessary...

the two Factory guys at Curborough taster day in the pale blue SS, one of whom was allegedly the sales manager(?) reckoned they had 970 orders for the 3w, have over 200 been cancelled/turned away.
I think we should be told.
