Morgan script badge

I have fitted the Morgan script badge copying the layout that I have seen on another Plus 4. I have since seen the same layout on two other cars. The second photo is modified to show an alternative layout that I have seen on another car last night. To tell the truth I prefer the second layout but the holes are now drilled frown

Perhaps Jays' method (see http://www.talkmorgan.com/ubbthreads.php/topics/88057/Morgan_script_badge#Post88070 ) may be safer because if you don't get it quite right you can change it.

It is not easy to get it looking as it should because the slope of the script is different in the Morgan and the Plus 4. I made it so that the base of the two scripts were parallel but I think that it may look better if the Morganis slightly higher at the left so that the slope of the two scripts is more in line. This is what I have done on the modified version of the photo that also places the Morgan script more to the left.

If you decide to drill holes my recommendation would be to experiment with placement on a sheet of scrap aluminium and when you have got it how you want it, with suitable protection for the paint, use the sheet as a template to get the holes in the desired position using any holes used by an existing badge (in my case the Plus 4) to hold the template in place. Because the pins are very close to the edges of the script you have very little possibility of elongating holes to adjust the scripts. You must get it right first time. Also before drilling make sure you have access to the rear of the panel to place the nuts. On my car I barely had space to get my fingers to the pin let alone screw on the nut.

Good luck
Peter

They both look great. 2 would probably be my preference having the luxury of comparison but I'd have been equally as pleased with 1 in ignorance etc.

Stick to the "version" you already have, and enjoy it...and when/if you want to have another Morgan in a distant future you have a good excuse innocent

One thing to note about the two options, they look the same when you are driving and enjoying the car.

Brilliant cheers

Tony: thumbs I think you have the right idea too. What do you think would be best, a Plus 8?

Jokes aside: three out of 4 that I have seen with the two badges are in layout 1. Only 1 is in layout 2. Add mine and you have 4 out of 5 so so far layout 1 is winning flag

A Plus 8 is a worthy replacer (when that time comes) notworthy

About your badge position statistics...remember that statistics are like a bikini. What they reveal is suggestive, but what they conceal is vital. innocent

Cheers cheers

I didn't consider option 2 when I fixed my script badge, I went straight for Option 1. It might be because I am left handed and an Aquarius. Also I used the glue option to avoid the the drilling.

I have been looking for a Morgan script stick-on badge as I don't want to drill holes. Yesterday I sent an email to the factory asking whether they could make them available as I was aware of some interest amongst owners via the various forums. I had a reply saying they weren't aware of any interest - so the answer was "no".

If there is still interest out there them may I suggest an email to Paul.Trussler@morgan-motor.co.uk at the factory may nudge them in the right direction.

Alan
