Hi,

I've have a chrome bumper on the back of my 1993 Plus 8 along with a luggage rack. I would ideally like overriders, but the small type not the new larger variety and wonder whether these would fit with the present rack arrangement.

Does anyone know if the brackets for fitting the rack are different for an overrider car?

Also can anyone confirm these overriders came from a Ford 100E circa 1953/1962.

If you look at the Morgan on-line shop they have two types of overriders. I suspect that the early type and the later type fit bumpers that have different profiles. I have no idea whether or not the early type can be modified to fit the later bumper profile.

A late reply as I've only just joined TM.

I have fitted overiders to the rear of my 95 plus 8. They are the type fitted to the frog eye sprite and the advantage is that they don't have any cut outs to accommodate a bumper. I think they were called bumperettes at the time. Bought them from Cape, the Austin Healey people.

I had to make a couple of brackets/plates to fit inside the overiders and could then use the original bumper brackets fitted to the car. I didnt fit a luggage rack but don't see a problem in doing so.
