I'm with Arwyn here Keith and can I say your front end really needs cleaning badly and now!

Gaiters, well they're ok to a degree but the suspension does get warm and the grease softens and can therefore exit the hub and pin areas more easily especially when it's banging up and down and literally pumping it out! Don't believe me! next time you've greased them and driven the car have a look under the wheel arches and close by areas and you will see blobs of grease splattered around in many directions. When left to eventually contaminate the hub area like yours you really are in danger of effecting brake efficiency and pad longevity. eventually those gaiters fill with grease and when warm and moving up and down it draws the road grit in as they suck as well as blow! Bit like a toilet plunger! That's why I chose not to have gaiters fitted, keep them clean and inspected is the way to go for me! I keep all the old and unpaired socks from the family and use them to clean out the spring and pin areas in the style of a shoe shine cleaner! I used to use hessian plasterers scrim roll but boy is it now expensive! Stripes of old hessian sacking is probably the best if you can get a supply as they hold the old grease rather than spreading it about!. Nipple access has always been hit and miss but 45' options are the way to go. yours car probably has UNC threads so ask Melvyn Rutter for replacements to fit. If you're having difficulty with the prop shaft U/J nipples then its probably because they are not long enough, loads of prop shafts seemed to have been fitted with short things in the factory and the gun will not fully engage and will leak out at the connector, Uncle Melvyn also stocks the correct items here too!
