If you have no symptoms, ie a miss fire type effect then just pull the plug from the end of the ECU and check to see if it shows oil tracking up the lead. it's usually obvious. if you do, then change it but if it's clean then no need. It may have already been changed, early versions were awful and 35-40,000 mls would be good. Sealed versions have also been known to allow oil to track up to the ecu. In the early days the cost was huge but now about £60.00 or less. The pattern parts seem to be fine and its an easy job, nothing like LR led owners to believe when no one knew any better and you'd get a bill for £350.00 in very early 2000's. Yes it runs inside the rocker box cover but its a simple plug and plug fit! No you won't have a totally disabling failure when you get symptoms but it can destroy the ECU if nit addressed fairly quickly.
