I am in DESPERATE NEED of S&S part 530-0016, which is a CAM PULLEY removal tool, necessary for the removal of the cam pulleys. I made a real WANKER of myself this morning …see this forum thread:

https://www.talkmorgan.com/ubbthreads.php/topics/806372/not-starting#Post806372

I have a call into S&S and left a message to see if it’s still available. No response so far…

If anyone has this I would only wish to use it briefly and would pay the equivalent of the price to the loaner. I believe it is $116 and change on the last price list I can see it on. I would also pay shipping both ways

Will, I do not know the 3-wheeler, but I do know a bit about british motorcycles and have had many years in mechanical engineering. My advice is dont give up on this one, have a 24 hr break and a cold beer, clear your head and write down a plan of action, followed by plan B. Remember that most things made by us can be fixed by us, even when screwed up, just takes a bit of time and thought to think through each issue step by step.. Start with some basics.. is the nut that you want to remove with the impact wrench right hand thread or left hand thread, if you get this wrong you will be trying to tighten not loosen the nut, also, what size impact wrench are you using 3/8" or 1/2" drive, a 1/2" drive wrench has a lot more grunt than a 3/8" version.

There is a lot of wisdom on this forum, just approach the problem one step at a time slowly and ask questions. If you think its mechanically too much to do, then find a good motorcycle shop with experienced Techs that works on S&S engines or the bigger Harley engines. Remember you are dealing basically with a commercial bike engine..they will have seen similar issues in the past and what looks like a massive issue to you may not be to them.. When this problem is fixed and you again enjoy the Morgan most of this present hassle will fade away...

Over many years of Morgan ownership and especially M3W ownership Patience is a required Virtue.
