Since I drove an early Plus 6 some months ago, I have been watching prices, 'just in case' and there is currently an auction on Collecting Cars auction site, for a 827 mile 2023 Plus 6 and with just 1.5 hours to go it has only got to £58k with bidding between just two buyers. It could of course still take off, or it may even not have reached its' reserve yet, but just what does this say about the prices of the CX cars? It seems to have all the right specs and so must have cost twice the current bid in 2023, that is a lot of money for only 827 or less miles of pleasure.

If I wasn't saving for a boat, I might be very tempted to jump in at the last minute.

Did the checks, surprised to see the reserve removed with 30 minutes to go and put in one more bid. Astounded that I won the auction. Even more amazed at the quality of the Six; I've seen the invoice from MMC, and it has everything I would want. The seller has other cars (including a Bentley and an Aston Martin) and just wasn't using the Morgan, and he felt it deserved to be loved so was happy to let it go at a low price.

I'd been looking at Plus Fours, and was in discussion with a dealer to look at one of his stock the week before the auction closed, so it wasn't really my first choice of Morgan, but ... well, I love it, and the colour in the flesh (so to speak) is much better than the photos on the auction site indicate. Tyres were slightly below pressure, but no flat spots, petrol was a little stale but rectified immediately. Enjoyed the first drive from the Cotswolds to home, and I'm taking it down to Williams in a couple of weeks for a winter check and underbody protection.
